VISION To equip the next generation to humbly influence all aspects of society for Christ MISSION STATEMENT To assist families in the training and education of their children to become godly individuals confidently living out God’s purposes for their lives PHILOSOPHY Sisters Christian Academy (originally called Sonrise Christian School) was started in 1997 by a group of parents who had a strong desire to see a high caliber Christian school in Sisters. We believe Christian training must begin in the home, continue in the church, and be reinforced in the school. We continuously strive toward the highest standards of academic excellence in all that we do. PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY Our school invites parents to be a part of the school environment through volunteer work, helping with classroom projects and field trips, or simply enjoying lunch with their children. Parents are always welcome at SCA. ACCREDITATION Northwest Accreditation Commission – NWAC (formerly NAAS) MEMBERSHIP Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) CERTIFICATION All teachers are certified by the State of Oregon, or have certification from other states while working towards their Oregon state certification. CURRICULUM We offer traditional subjects, such as reading, phonics, history, English, math, science, art, music, and PE. As a classical Christian school we also offer Latin beginning in elementary grades and logic in middle school. As a Christian school Bible is an integral part of our educational program. We teach that all knowledge is interrelated and instructs us about God himself. We seek to prepare each student for life-academically, emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually.
